John
Hartford, Bob Carlin, and Chris at a radio station in Kentucky
(sometime in 2000?) |
![]() |
John loved to play radio stations. Any DJ who had a program could call him, if we were going to be in the area, and he would go and play there. I think this is the day I knocked John's fiddle out of tune with my guitar. |

(summer 1987) |

This was the first band I was ever in. In fact, this was probably one of my first times on stage. Sometimes I still see the banjo player, Cameron Stapleton. |

Down From The Mountain (May 24, 2000) |
On stage at the Ryman auditorium in Nashville with Mike Compton, Alison Krauss and Gillian Welch. |

At John Hartford's House (late 1990's) |
Here's one of a group of pickers that were having a jam session at John's. Nashville is a wonderful place for jams, and they happen at all hours of the day or night. |

My Picks (April 2004) |
For anyone who might care, these are the picks I use. A Dunlop large thumb-pick, a John Pearse Hi Rider pick for my index finger, and a National on my middle finger for 3 finger stuff. |

In Japan with Taro Inoue (March 2002) |
This is my friend Taro. When I was in Japan he and I played quite a few shows together. Taro is very active in the Japanese music scene around the Tokyo area. Great mandolin player and songwriter. Check his site! |

Ryu Tashiro |
Ryu was our soundman. He also did the engineering work on the new Chris Sharp and David Long recording project. This picture was taken at one of our shows at the Station Inn, in Nashville, TN. Ryu has since moved back to Japan |

Roanoke, VA with Curly Sechler (June 2004) |
These pictures were taking during the time we were recording Curly's new CD's. Curly's CD "Down In Caroline" was nominated for IBMA's 2006 Recorded Event of The Year award. It was an honor, to say the least, getting to work on this project. There are a couple of pictures here that were sent to me by Penny Parsons, of Record Depot. |
